remote-first
engineering leader

About

Hi friends! I lead the Commerce, Trust & Integrity engineering team at Shopify, building systems that detect fraud, manage risk, and enforce platform policies at scale. I'm obsessed with building AI-first, remote teams: the culture, processes, and tools that make them thrive.

Previously, I was CTO and Partner at Chromatic and Director of Application Development at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. I've built and led high-performing remote teams across web and iOS for over a decade, and I'm a longtime open-source advocate.

I've written and spoken about topics from technical architecture to team dynamics, at events like DrupalCon and Slack's Spec conference.

Away from work: cyclist, traveler, amateur TV critic, F1 fan.
